The Story Behind Maudine's

In 1926, Rosalind Morrison was named Ohio State University Homecoming Queen but gave up her crown after discovering she had received more votes than there were students at the school.

The crown went to Maudine Ormsby, a local farm girl known for her sweet nature and award-winning milk production. She wasn’t a student—she was a beloved member of the university’s dairy herd. Nominated as a playful prank by College of Agriculture students, Maudine became an unexpected queen and a beloved hometown hero.
