About

In 1926, Rosalind Morrison won the distinction of Ohio State University Homecoming Queen. Being an honorable woman, she handed over her crown when she learned that she had received more votes than there were students at the school.

The crown went to the runner-up, Maudine Ormsby, a local farm girl with big brown eyes and a sweet-natured disposition. She wasn’t even a student. She was, however, an esteemed member of the university’s dairy herd, known for her award-winning milk production. The students of the College of Agriculture had nominated Maudine as a prank, but nevertheless, she was declared Queen and will forever be a hometown hero.
