The Grief Club
Many of us were never taught how to process grief, and as a result, we often carry emotions with no clear place for them to land. “What I’m Carrying & Where Does It Go” is an interactive creative release experience that invites participants to explore grief through non-pressure guided conversation, reflective writing, and art therapy practices. Led by Cortland and Atlas of The Grief Club, this activation offers a creative space for participants to express what they’ve been holding not solely with speaking- and discover meaningful ways to release it through creativity and connection.
Cortland Joy Mullins is a founder, storyteller, and creative curator whose work bridges marketing, wellness, and community healing. As the founder of The Grief Club, a holistic organization centered on healing, connection, and conversation, she designs experiences and activations that help individuals navigate life’s transitions through guided dialogue, movement, art, and mindfulness.
Blending her background in marketing with her calling as a wellness architect, Cortland builds experiences that restore the mind, body, and spirit while inspiring authenticity, belonging, and purpose.
Kyle “Atlas” Flemings is an educator, poet, and community builder whose work centers storytelling as a pathway to healing, reflection, and transformation. As co-founder of The Grief Club and co-founder of Underdog Academy, he creates spaces that invite honest conversation around grief, Black identity, masculinity, and emotional wellness through restorative practices and creative expression.
With an MFA in Creative Writing from Miami University and a background as a United States Air Force veteran, Atlas blends discipline, artistry, and community-centered care to design experiences that foster connection, vulnerability, and collective healing.
